Miesha Tate is a former professional mixed martial artist turned prominent MMA pundit and actress. Known by her nickname “Cupcake,” she first made her mark as a high school state champion wrestler before transitioning to MMA, launching her professional career in 2007. Tate captured the Freestyle Cage Fighting bantamweight championship in 2009 and rose to wider prominence in 2011 when she became Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion. In 2016, she reached the pinnacle of her career by winning the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title with a historic submission victory. A fierce grappler renowned for her wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills, Tate engaged in a landmark rivalry with Ronda Rousey, helping to elevate women’s MMA into the UFC’s mainstream. After retiring following UFC 205, she balanced media appearances and commentary work, even acting in the feature film Fight Valley. In 2022, she won Celebrity Big Brother Season 3, demonstrating her versatility beyond the cage.
